The Cellar Door

Visit Capital Wines Cellar Door taste our wine, share a cheese plate or experience epicurean tastings of matched wine and food. Our friendly staff are pleased to conduct wine tastings and assist with wine purchases. We are open 10:30am – 5pm Thursday to Sunday and most public holidays.

Capital Wines Cellar Door can be found in Hall Village just a short 15 minute drive from the centre of Canberra, on the way to Murrumbateman and Hall Wineries. It’s an easy highlight to include in small group tours. Maximum group tasting 15 people. Group bookings essential.

Epicurean Tastings

Sample a set of four wines (60 ml each) from our range, expertly matched to four food tastes. Only $40 per person with a $10 optional dessert course.

Tastings run on weekends only from 11am to 3pm and bookings are essential. Call us on 6230 2022 to reserve your spot today. Vouchers for an Epicurean Tasting are a great birthday or Christmas present.

Cellar Door Team

Karen Jahne manages our cellar door and cellar club and also looks after the accounts. Emily Cunich oversights our tasting counter and epicurean tastings on the weekends, manages our social media and is also the curator for exhibitions held in the gallery. Marion McEwin (joint owner with Andrew) is hands-on managing many things behind the scenes, and can often be found at the cellar door counter.

Kyeema Gallery

Group and private tastings are held in the Kyeema Gallery which features changing exhibitions of local and regional artists.

Hall Village

Hall Village offers varied attraction; Monthly markets (First Sunday of the month), Museum and Heritage Centre (open Thursday morning and market Sundays), heritage walks around the town, cafes (Kynefin and Daughters at Hall) open for brunch and lunch, 1882 Bar and Grill open for lunch and dinner, Hops and Vine featuring boutique beers and district wines.
