2017 The Foreign Minister Sangiovese$28.00Member: $21.60
The minister of foreign affairs helps to form foreign policy as well as performing diplomatic duties. The embodiment of everything Italian, sangiovese would exert significant influence as a diplomat.
A variety from Tuscany, it is a seriously exciting wine – fleshy, great body, luscious texture and mouth-watering acidity that makes it tremendous with food. This sangiovese is charming and has lots of spicy red berries – juicy cherry, a little peppered strawberry, some herbs and violets. Enjoy with tomato bruschetta, pizza, or smoked meats.
2019 The Backbencher Merlot$32.00Member: $21.60
Backbenchers do not have a seat in the ministry and individually have little power to influence policy. Merlot has always taken a backseat compared to more fashionable wines.
Although often misunderstood, when carefully crafted in the vineyard and winery, merlot can be a rich, full flavoured, yet smoot and soft wine.
This wine displays a rich spectrum of plum and spiced berry fruits. Wonderful with roast beef, smoked meats and for afternoon tea with fruit cake.
2019 The Lobbyist Cabernet Merlot$32.00Member: $21.60
The role of the Lobbyist is to influence, advocate and lobby for political outcomes and deliver results for their clients, members and community. Like the lobbyist, a winemaker brings together the grapes, the soil and the climate to deliver a wine to be enjoyed by the consumer.
Made from the cool climate fruit the Jeir Station Vineyard, this wine blends together Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. This wine shows perfumed flavours of berries and blackcurrent from the Cabernet Sauvignon and cherries and raspberry from the Merlot.
